Stop motion is an animated filmmaking technique in which objects are physically manipulated in small increments between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to exhibit independent motion or change when the series of frames is played back. In todays scenario, stop motion is being used widely in advertisements and short films.There are different types of stop motion mediums like object motion,claymation,pixilation,cutout motion,puppet animation,silhouette animation etc.
Mr. Prosenjit Ganguly conducted one week Animation Workshop for animation students to enhance their understand of the medium and take them through the entire rigirous process of making a stop motion film professionally. Apart from the class Prosenjit’s gave inputs on building up a schedule and put all the efforts in getting an idea made in stop motion.
An alumnus (1998) and former Member of the Faculty at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Prosenjit has served as Director of Special Projects, with Toonz Animation India (2002- 2009) creating award-winning animation properties for international broadcasters. His short films have been showcased at prestigious film festivals in over 15 countries, winning several international awards and nominations. A regular speaker at prestigious festivals and forums that include, TEDx, Anifest India, Hamburg Film Festival, Asifa India amongst many others.
