Environment & Space Design discipline is a multi-disciplinary course where learning happens with participation in co-curricular activities and design festival. Understanding the space context beyond walls and how it creates experiential volume with the use of given thematic elements. The understanding of timeline, material management, procurement system, group co-ordination and unique idea will make students to learn complete cycle of design process. Hands-on learning with live projects brings more matured designer with fine integrity of complete outcome.
Sabarmati Festival is about celebrating the rich diversity of culture and 600-year-old heritage of Ahmedabad and to foster cultural exchange in a fun setting. Students of Environment & Space design participated for Sabarmati festival, 2018 to create Art Installation. Gujarat Literature festival is largest literary event on Gujarati literature. Students participated in creating various transitional spaces between the various venues to make it welcoming journey. The complete process from generating the concept, identification of elements, patterns to be used, making of the installation, cost of the material and final pre-fabrication to assembly of it on site was done by students.
